What is Catch a Break Scholarship Program?
The Catch a Break!® Scholarship Program was established to assist highly motivated Minnesota residents who have faced challenges in life and learned from them, and are now enrolling for the first time in post-secondary education. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited public four-year college or university in Minnesota for the entire academic year. We have 15 new scholarships available each year. All scholarships are renewable, up to $11,000 per year, up to four years. The Deadline of Scholarship is March 16, 2024.

Description of Catch a Break Scholarship
** We select scholars each year and provide them up to $11,000 per year for up to four years. Our goal is to help you graduate from college debt free.
** We also provide individual mentorship and community group events to foster your personal development and growth. Catch A Break! is more than a transactional scholarship: CAB! scholars develop community and networks for support throughout college and beyond graduation.
** We will cap applications at 100, so be sure to apply early!
Eligibility of Catch a Break Scholarship
** At Catch A Break!®, we believe in the value of a college experience and the rewards of a hard-earned degree. The knowledge and abilities you gain in college can open new doors and change the course of your life.
** We are a testament to that fact; we’ve caught so many breaks in our lives that have helped us make a difference in the world, and we want to find deserving scholars who will catch their break and use it to make a difference of their own.
** Unfortunately, many gifted students lack the financial resources necessary to complete their education without taking on a mountain of debt. Bright, talented people can be hampered by college debt for a number of decades, and thus may never realize their full potential.
** That’s where Catch A Break!® comes in. This scholarship is about giving deserving students like you the chance to lessen the load and change the trajectory of your life.
** Our hope is that your passion, ability and successful graduation from college will allow you to reach your dreams and help improve our world. Catch your break and stretch your abilities to make a lasting difference!
** Catch A Break!® is proud to support these financial awards and our scholarship program so we may choose the best students and potential talent. Selection Criteria of Catch a Break Scholarship
We welcome your application if:
** You have faced challenges in your life and learned from them
** You are highly motivated and know why you want a college education
** Must be a MN Resident as defined by your 4-year public (not private) college or university in Minnesota.
** Your composite ACT score is 24 or higher
** Your GPA is 3.0 or higher
** You will be 21 years of age or younger when admitted as a freshman
** Your family’s household income shows significant financial stress/challenges in paying for your college education. Award amount determined after consideration of all sources of financial aid.
This scholarship program is administered by Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope is a cloud-based platform designed to develop and administer scholarship and grant programs. Awards are given without regard to religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender or disability. Visit Kaleidoscope every November for the next academic year’s program guidelines and application form.
