What is US Trusted Traveler Programs Global Entry?
Global Entry cards are issued to Global Entry members who are U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents and Mexican nationals. To activate your card, log into your Trusted Traveler Program (TPP) account. After you log in, click on the “Activate Membership Card” button under the Program Membership(s) section.
Eligibility for Global Entry
To enroll in the Global Entry Program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements.
** Be 18 years of age or older (minors require a parent or legal guardian’s consent).
** Be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States or be a citizen of one of the following countries Argentina, Brazil, Bahrain, Dominican Republic, India, Colombia, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Mexican nationals.
Reasons for Ineligibility :
You may not be eligible for participation in the Global Entry program if you:
** Provide false or incomplete information on the application;
** Have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges or outstanding warrants (to include driving under the influence);
** Have been found in violation of any customs, immigration or agriculture regulations or laws in any country;
** Are the subject of an ongoing investigation by any federal, state or local law enforcement agency;
** Have been denied for the purchase of a firearm;
** Are inadmissible to the United States under immigration regulation, including applicants with approved waivers of inadmissibility or parole documentation; or
** Cannot satisfy CBP of your low-risk status.
** Requirements for Children
** There is no minimum age requirement for Global Entry. However, if you are under the age of 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the program. Your parent or legal guardian does not have to be a Global Entry member.
Regardless of your age, you must:
** Create a Global Online Enrollment System account;
** Pay a $100 non-refundable application fee; and
** Schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present at time of interview.
Application Fee of Global Entry
A $100 one-time fee is required with your Global Entry application and must be paid at time of application submission through the Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) system. You can pay by credit card or through an electronic bank transfer.
The fee is non-refundable, even if an application is denied.
How to Apply for Global Entry?
Just follow these steps.
Before applying, make sure you are eligible for Global Entry.
1. Create a Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account
Regardless of your age, you must have your own Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account.
2. Log in to your TTP account and complete the application
A $100 non-refundable fee is required with each completed application.
3. Schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center
After accepting your completed application, CBP will conduct a review. If your application is conditionally approved, your TTP account will instruct you to schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Each applicant must schedule a separate interview.
(Please Note: 80% of applications are approved within 2 weeks while some applications can take up to 12 months or longer to be processed.)
4. Complete the application process
Bring your valid passport and one other form of identification, such as a driver’s license or ID card, to the interview. If you are a lawful permanent resident, you must present your machine readable permanent resident card.
